Regional Press Secretary, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee

The Democratic Congressional
Campaign Committee is seeking experienced, strategic communicators to be
Regional Press Secretaries for the 2012 cycle.  The regional press
secretary is responsible for developing relationships with media in targeted
congressional districts. The regional press secretary spends a significant
amount of time working with individual candidates and campaigns to develop and
implement aggressive media strategies, story pitches, writing press releases
and talking points, and interview preparation. Campaign experience
preferred.  2-3 years of on the record experience is required for the

Staff Writer,  Democratic
Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC)



The Democratic Congressional
Campaign Committee seeks an experienced Staff Writer for the 2010 cycle.
The Staff Writer is primarily responsible for writing and editing DCCC
releases, speeches and talking points, as well as content for e-mails, letters,
newsletters, and websites in a fast-paced environment.  Ability to multitask
and produce well-written copy under tight deadlines is critical.  The
position requires excellent research and organization skills.  This is not

Job Opportunity:





The Ohio Democratic Party has an opening for The Director of
the Ohio Democratic Women's Caucus.  We are seeking an energetic,
experienced organizer who will educate, empower and energize Democratic women
and women's groups in order to increase their leadership within Democratic
politics.  The Director will mobilize this constituency to work with the
Ohio Democratic Party to elect Democratic candidates and encourage and support
qualified Democratic women to seek and run for office.



The focus of this position is to facilitate statewide and
regional communication, networking, and educational opportunities for
Democratic women, to support local women leaders and groups, to recruit more
women for elected office and to assist them in reaching leadership roles.




Fundraising is a key part of this position.
Responsibilities will include direct solicitation and organizing events.
This position will manage all organizing activities in association with women,
in partnership with the ODWC Leadership Council.



Qualifications:

·        A strong
commitment to Democratic ideals and issues important to women;  prior
experience working on women's issues or a woman's campaign is preferred

·        Demonstrated
experience as a proactive, innovative, self-motivated organizer, problem solver
and team leader who takes initiative and works independently to create desired
results in a fast-paced environment;

·        Grassroots
political/campaign organizing experience, with an emphasis on mobilizing and
supporting members and volunteers;

·        Demonstrated
ability to solicit money; fundraising experience;

·        Excellent

Government Affairs Professional (title to be determined) in Washington,

and focus primarily on leading direct lobbying, coalition engagement and

State
Policy Fellowship Announcement



We are now
accepting applications for the 2011 State Policy Fellowship, an initiative of
the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (www.cbpp.org), a national policy
institute, and the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative (SFAI), a network of
influential state policy organizations.  Its goal is to help build a
diverse generation of future leaders who will shape state policies that affect
disadvantaged families and communities.  With the overwhelming majority of
states expected to continue to face budget shortfalls in the coming years that
could lead to severe cuts in public services, fellows will play a particularly
vital role in affecting budget policies of importance to low- and
moderate-income families and contributing to the fiscal policy dialogue moving
states forward.



The Fellowship
is sponsored the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a national policy
institute, and the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative (SFAI), a network of public
policy organizations in over 30 states that participate in debates over budget
and tax issues and other issues in their states that affect disadvantaged
communities and families.  



Below are key
details on the program:



·         Fellows
will spend two years as entry-level analysts working with a state policy
organization belonging to the nationwide SFAI network or with the Center's
state fiscal division in Washington, D.C.



·         Fellows
will research and write analyses on current policy issues; brief policymakers,
journalists, and others on these issues; and serve as a resource for advocates
and community groups.



·         Each
fellow will receive an annual salary of $45,000 - $50,000 (regional salary
adjustments may be applied to higher-cost locations).  In addition, health
benefits will be included.



·         Fellows
will participate in a career development program that includes a week-long
seminar in Washington, D.C. and additional training and professional
development opportunities, including national policy conferences.
Additionally, fellows will be partnered with mentors who are leaders in their
field.



·         To be
eligible for the program, candidates must 1) have a graduate degree in public
policy, public affairs, economics, social work, public health, law, or a
related field by August 2011, 2) have a strong academic record, and 3)
be eligible to work in the United States for the two-year duration of the
program.



Application
requirements include a personal essay, resume, copies of undergraduate and
graduate transcripts, and two letters of recommendation.  Completed
applications must be submitted by January 14, 2011, but we encourage
applicants to apply earlier.  The fellowship will begin in the latter part
of August 2011.
